I'm 100% with Landroid on this one. That scum would be slapped with the predator label for life if I had anything to say about it.

18 & 17 year olds, well that happens all the time. Funny how society changes - 100 years ago, I don't think 13 year old girls marrying 16 year old boyz was unusual either. At what age did a woman become a spinster - 25? I s'pose 16 year olds marrying a man of 40 was more common when there was a clear aristocracy, a family happy that their girl is marrying into money, way above her station, and one less mouth to feed. And going way back, la droit de seigneur. Yuck...

Or I'll throw another wrinkle. For sake of illustration, in Alabama consent can be obtained for a 14 year old. In Iowa, the age of consent is 16.
So suppose 15 year-old Alabama bride honeymoons in Iowa with her 20 year-old husband. Yes, Iowa has to recognize the marriage contract, but what's to stop a prosecutor from charging the groom with statutory rape? It doesn't happen enough to have any real body of law developed on it, but it's coming. And I'm not really sure what the answer is.

If it wasn?t for all you damn Lincolnites we wouldn?t have one State imposing it?s will over the citizens of another State.
